Shaper Bay

Pimp my ride

Last week I gave my friend shaper Buzz the mission to revamp my old and uggly surfboard...The design of the spray being sorted out (thanks to Petra and her patience!), it was time to give it a go. So I spend few late evenings at the factory directing Buzz on the colouring. It was a first for me and for Buzz too...ended up being more experimental than we thought! After a lot of taping and colour mixing, here is the result: an almost brand new ironing board!

Thanks Buzz for Pimping my ride!!!

Artificial Surfing Reef

ASR is THE artificial surfing reefs company. And here is their latest project. After Mount Maunganui reef (New Zealand, which was by the way the subject of my Master degree!!!) and Bornemouth (UK)… This one is their third attempt. And it looks like they finally found the right recipe to create epic waves and protect the coast from erosion at the same time!!!!

ASRLimited — April 27, 2010 — Working in conjunction with the Indian government, ASR Ltd completed construction of India's first Multi-Purpose Reef in February, 2010. The primary purpose of the reef is to mitigate coastal erosion from monsoon waves in the small town of Kovalam. The reef also creates an excellent habitat for marine species. Finally, as this video shows, the reef has helped create a great surf spot.

PS: Big up to Shaw, James and all the crew from ASR... miss you guys...best 6 months of surf and fun!
